Susan K. Eddins, BS – Principal

Ms. Eddins is a product strategist in the field of genomics (i.e., molecular biology and genetics research). Previously, she was Head of Worldwide Marketing at Illumina, Inc., which is a publicly held company that develops research systems for use in the studying of large-scale genetic variation and function. Before joining Illumina, Ms. Eddins held various positions at Applied Biosystems (ABI) a market leader in the life science research tool industry. As Director of the Genomic Assays business, she was responsible for the commercialization strategies for genotyping and gene expression assays. The majority of her tenure at ABI was spent in the business unit responsible for producing DNA sequencing and genotyping systems. In this capacity, Ms. Eddins was responsible for the management and strategic marketing of the ABI PRISM 3700 DNA Analyzer; the system used by both public and private laboratories in the 10 year, $3B, worldwide effort that sequenced the human genome. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University in California.
