Stuart M. Palmer  

Dr. Palmer has over 25 years of scientific and executive management experience in biotechnology operations and in vitro diagnostic assay development. He currently provides support to life science clients who seek to start or build-up their business and require guidance during product development and the transition to commercial manufacturing by focusing on design control, process and product validation, cGMP manufacturing, facility expansion and US and ex-US regulatory requirements. Dr. Palmer most recently served as Vice President of Technical Operations for Roche Molecular Systems, Inc. (“RMS”) with responsibility for production and supply of all biological reagents and bulk formulations for RMS’s molecular diagnostic and life-science research products for world-wide distribution. He was also a core member of multiple facility design, construction and start-up teams responsible for evolving RMS’s multi-site production strategy during a period of rapid expansion. Prior to joining RMS, Dr. Palmer held senior R&D positions at Roche Diagnostic Systems, Inc. where he was responsible for hybridoma development and production, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) assay development and system integration for TDM assays onto the COBAS® Integra clinical laboratory analyzer. He began his professional career at Abbott Laboratories Diagnostic Division in Operations process development support roles focused on optimizing antibody and antigen manufacturing processes for a variety of biohazard agents - including HIV, HBV, RSV, Rotavirus, T. gondii and T. cruzii and later managed a multi-site technical support group for the TDx® line of TDM products. Dr. Palmer is an author on several peer-reviewed scientific publications and abstracts in the fields of diagnostic assay development and laboratory instrumentation. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Microbiology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and is a member of several professional and scientific associations.
