Peter J. Dailey, PhD – Principal

Dr. Dailey has over 30 years of infectious disease diagnostics experience in research, development and application for industry, clinical laboratory and public health. Currently, he is a lecturer at the School of Public Health, Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology Division of the University of California at Berkeley. Previously, Dr. Dailey was the Senior Vice President, R&D at Cepheid where he directed the research and development of infectious disease, oncology and genetic molecular diagnostic assays on the Cepheid GeneXpert platform. Prior to his work at Cepheid, Dr. Dailey held management positions at Roche Molecular Systems, and Chiron Corporation. He holds professional licenses as a clinical laboratory scientist, a public health microbiologist and a medical technologist. Dr. Dailey is listed as an author on over 35 book chapters and peer-reviewed scientific publications. He received his BA in Bacteriology from the University of California at Davis, his Master of Public Health from the School of Public Health, University of California at Berkeley, and his PhD in Microbiology also from the University of California at Berkeley.
