Judith C. Wilber, PhD – Principal

Dr. Wilber has nearly 30 years of experience in technology development and clinical utilization of new diagnostic markers and technologies. She consults with numerous companies on laboratory implementation and the innovative introduction of new diagnostic markers, and currently serves as Vice President of Clinical Development and Laboratory Operations at Tethys Bioscience. Dr. Wilber has held the positions Vice President of Technical Operations at XDx, where she continues to serve as CLIA Laboratory Director; Vice President of Research in Nucleic Acid Diagnostics at Bayer Healthcare (formerly Chiron Diagnostics), where she established in-house clinical reference laboratories in the US and Europe and led studies to prove the clinical value of viral load measurement; Chief of Virology at the San Francisco Department of Public Health, where she established the laboratory for the first alternative test sites for anonymous HIV testing; and Vice President of Scientific Affairs and Chief Scientific Officer at EndoBionics (now Mercator Medsystems), where she led preclinical studies of a novel cardiac device. She is an author of over 20 book chapters and invited reviews and over 60 scientific publications. Dr. Wilber is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical and Molecular Microbiology (ABMM), Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America, and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. She received her AB in Bacteriology from Douglass College in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and her MS and PhD degrees in Microbiology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
