Amer El-Hage  

Mr. El-Hage is an engineering management consultant in product development and transfer from engineering to quality manufacturing of scientific and laboratory instruments. He is the principal at Beeston Engineering Consulting and provides technical reviews and expertise in product and scientific instruments packaging, Opto-mechanical design, plastic injection molding specifically Microplates, micro-fluidics and MEMS application. Mr. El-Hage is versed in product design verification and validation processes, transfer to Quality manufacturing and in ISO Design control, FDA regulatory and CE agency certifications. He collaborates with his clients through his technical contacts on custom product development and manufacturing solutions. Mr. El-Hage held key engineering, manufacturing and project management positions at companies such as Beckman Instruments and Varian Associates in the 1980’s. From 1991 to 2000 he was Director of Engineering Programs at LJL BioSystems, and following its acquisition at Molecular Devices until 2004. He chaired the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Santa Clara Valley Section in 2005-06; and currently chairs the Society of Bimolecular Sciences (SBS) Microplate Standards Development and is a member of SEMI Micro-fluidics MEMS International Standards Task Force, American Laboratory Automation (ALA), and Laboratory Robotics Interest Group (LRIG). Mr. El-Hage is named inventor on 14 US and two international patents, and has co-authored journal articles and made presentations at international Laboratory Automation industry conferences and academic institutions. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering from Ohio State University in Columbus and his Masters with distinction in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
